CCBC represents at National Schools’ Regatta

CCBC made a strong showing at this year’s National Schools’ Regatta, entering three crews across the weekend in one of the biggest junior rowing events of the season.

The boys’ J15 coxed quad delivered the standout performance, placing 18th out of 38 crews in the time trial and qualifying for the C final. In a tightly contested race, they claimed 2nd place (14th overall), notably finishing ahead of local rivals King’s School Worcester, and in and amongst some of the big club names across the counrty - a satisfying result that reflected their season-long progress.

The girls’ J15 coxed quad also represented the club with grit and determination. Despite finishing 30th in the time trial, narrowly missing out on a finals place, they showed commendable spirit on the national stage against strong competition.

Our girls’ J16 double unfortunately did not get the chance to race, as all of Sunday’s events were cancelled due to high winds — a frustrating but all-too-familiar turn of events at Nottingham.

Overall, the regatta was a valuable experience for our young athletes, who gained both race-day insight and national-level exposure. With strong performances and clear signs of development, CCBC looks ahead to the rest of the season with confidence.
